Yesterday was the last day of my Geology 1 class in Pasadena City College. No more summer school, and waking up at 6 a.m. on Tuesdays to Thursdays! Haha.

I hope I get a “B” in the class. I know I won’t get an “A” due to the results of my last two exams. I did learn a lot in the class, though. Professor Wilbur is a good lecturer. I also went to many places as field trips, and the last place I went to was Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History on the Wednesday that just passed.

It’s not Geology without learning minerals, so I took some pictures of them. It was hard to take many that I did like because the lighting of the room was so dim. The quartz one looked cool because it looked like a heart, and look at that huge sulfur! Haha, it just pops out at you.

There was also this gem vault. I liked the spinels, and especially the sapphires, because that’s my birthstone! Go, September! Haha. Anyway, the colorless one looks cool, doesn’t it?

Apparently, they have this thing called the Megamouth Shark, and man, its mouth really is huge! Just look at it!

Here is the North America mammals section where they have displays of a couple of mammals in North America. Most of them looked real. It was pretty awesome.

They also had the centerpiece of T-Rex. I was picturing it to be a lot bigger, but I guess they couldn’t put a really big one in the hall they had or something.

The museum has much more than just this, but I didn’t have time to check out everything. I also find it pretty funny how my outlook of the museum’s gift store is so different now. I remember liking it to go there so much when I was younger, and they had so many cool things, but I went back there, and I was thinking they were just alright. Oh well. The museum trip was nice. I don’t even remember the last time I went before this one.
